Rep. Candace Miller--This was an act of war against America!

Color me impressed with Rep. Candace Miller (R-MI)!

If you didn't catch the segment, make sure to watch the above video. Below is an excerpt from an article describing it:
A Michigan congresswoman said the government should not be prosecuting terrorism in Detroit.

Instead, U.S. Republican Rep. Candice Miller urged the Justice Department to immediately classify the Nigerian man accused of trying to blow up a packed Detroit-bound plane as an enemy combatant and turn him over to the military for enhanced interrogation and trial.

"The military would be able to take this cowardly terrorist and interrogate him aggressively and get as much information as possible," Miller said Monday. "I do not believe this was a criminal act. It was a terrorist act of war."

Charlie Sheen in Trouble Yet Again!

How to describe Charlie Sheen?
~~9/11 Truther

~~One of Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss's clients

~~Serial Domestic Abuser

~~Drug Abuser

So was anyone surprised when he was arrested, yet again, this Christmas for putting yet another woman's life in danger? As GG points out, you'd think these women would have wised up by now.

Two more questions, why is he one of Hollywood's highest paid actors, making $20 million a year? And why is the public continuing to watch him?

Janet Napolitano: The “System Worked”..Even Though A Bomb Made It Through Security

When asked how the would be terrorist was allowed to board a plane with liquid explosives Napolitano responded,”We’re asking the same questions.”

Folks, this is what happens when you put liberals in charge of national security...

~~Janet Napolitano on Attempted Plane Bombing: “Everything Worked According to Clockwork” (Video)

~~Michelle Malkin spells it all out with Napolitano's horrible history of preventing attacks and how things went down on Flight 254:
Today, she caps off her horrible year by playing Big Pollyanna in the wake of the Flight 254. The botched bombing — foiled by a faulty detonator and brave passengers, not by homeland security bureaucrats or any preemptive measures by intel officials — shows that the in Ja-No’s fantasy world.

If the “system” had “worked,” the U.S. consular officials who granted Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab a short-term visa last June would have revoked it immediately upon being informed by his father that he was a Muslim radical with al Qaeda ties.

If the “system” had “worked,” U.S. consular officials would have never granted Abdulmutallab — a rootless, young, single male — a visa in the first place in compliance with State Department visa regulation 214(b).

If the “system” had “worked,” Abdulmutallab would have been barred from the U.S. like he had been barred from Britain.

The “system,” like Napolitano, was an epic fail.

And as predicted, Napolitano also played the “lone nut” card — dismissing the Christmas Day jihadist as a single operator not part of “anything larger” despite his own testimony to the contrary.

She’s Obama’s biggest joker. And there’s no Blame-Bush loophole
to weasel through anymore.

~~Jonah Goldberg says if Obama is serious about national security, he'd fire Napolitano:
If the White House wants to assure people that it takes the war on terror seriously (a term Robert Gibbs used this morning by the way), they could start by firing this patenly unqualified hack.

UPDATE: Napolitano says, let me rephrase that...

The American's Creed and more...

My youngest son and I have been working on memorizing The American's Creed for awhile now. Once he had it down, I couldn't resist putting it up on Youtube. As I have mentioned previously on my blog, my son still does speech therapy, so I hope you can understand most of what he is saying.

I also have recently come across a couple of homeschooling items that I think are fun and really good educational tools at the same time.

Schoolhouse Rock~~Any kid that grew up in the 70's and early 80's remembers School House Rock! What I didn't realize, was how much valuable educational material was in each and every song.

I decided to use some of the songs in my home school and when I went to reserve the DVD from the library, I found out there was a guide. The guide has all the lyrics and background information on each song. I was amazed as I looked at the lyrics how much educational info was packed into each song.

I also discovered some fascinating tidbits. "Medical schools had requested the Telegraph Line song to show first-year students a simple visual explanation of the nervous system". How cool is that? Also, here is a neat story connected with The Preamble song:
This was the winner for most-hummed-during-history-tests. In New Canaan, Connecticut, an American history high school teacher was startled to hear musical murmuring during the exam. Her students were singing "The Preamble," and they all passed.

H is for Honor! (A Military Family Alphabet)~~I stumbled onto this book by accident, but it is wonderful and I highly recommend it. The author, Devin Scillian is an army brat and he has great insight on the military. Even I learned a lot while reading it.

We the People! (The story of our constitution)~~This is Lynne Cheney's latest history book for children. I LOVE all of her children's history books, and have bought most of them. If you haven't read any of them to your kids, they are a must read! Here are her other titles:
~~When Washington Crossed the Delaware
~~America: A Patriotic Primer
~~A is for Abigail: An Almanac of Amazing American Women
~~Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America

Everything You Need to Know About World History Homework~~This series is AWESOME!! It boils everything down to bullet points on what you need to know about whatever subject its covering. I have one of these checked out from the library, but I plan on buying the whole series. Here are the other titles in the series, Everything you need to know about:
~~American History Homework
~~English Homework
~~Geography Homework
~~Science Homework
~~Math Homework

Christmas Week Smorgasbord!

1) Brittany Murphy's Death~~Its always shocking when you hear of someone dying at the age of 32 of "natural causes". The cause of her heart attack appears unknown at this time, and may not be known for some weeks. Its a sad loss!

Update: It looks like drugs may have been involved, as most of us suspected!

I didn't consider Clueless to be her signature movie, but many are referring to that movie as her breakout role. I avoided watching the movie for many years until a friend convinced me. I loved it! It's a modern spin on Jane Austen's Emma, and one of the main characters was actually named after Dionne Warwick like myself, that never, ever happens!

2) Dick Cheney: HUMAN EVENTS' Conservative of the Year~~I can't count the ways I love this man. Obviously, I'm not alone! Although, as much as Chris Matthews loves Obama, he appears to hate Cheney.

I'm thinking someone needs to start recommending good therapists for Matthews and Olbermann!!

3) The absolute gall of Barack Obama!~~And I thought the Clintons had cornered the market on having unbelievable nerve to do one thing and say another. Obama is definitely giving them a run for their money. He has plunged this country into more debt than ANY OTHER PRESIDENT IN HISTORY in less than a year, and as Gateway Pundit puts it:
he just got done bribing Democrats to pass Obamacare and he tripled the national deficit in less than a year.

4) Don has an awesome list of ponderings!~~Make sure to check them out, I think I could relate to almost every single one of them. I especially liked the need for a sarcasm font and the fact that bad decisions make good stories.

5) The So-called Moderate Democrats find their sell-out price to pass the Health Care Bill!~~We still need to speak out against this bill, the public does not support it. If it does end up making it through both houses to Obama, the only silver lining will be the Democrats are going to pay a big price in November!

A Blogger Wedding!

Several years ago, as many of us ventured out into the blogging realm, a group of us became friends! We aren't and weren't all friends with the exact same people, but many of the circles overlapped and it was a bonding experience to interact with others who were as passionate about politics as we were.

Lone Pony was one of my early friends, she and I had a lot in common and we both lived in the same area of Missouri. We were kindred spirits in many ways, and after blogging for about a year, we met! At that meeting, she talked about how she was going to get to meet one of our other blogging friends, ABFreedom in Canada. Awhile later, several of us noticed "signs" that made us suspect that they were dating ;-). Fast forward to today, and we have a blogger wedding!!!

I was honored that they asked me to be a witness! They plan on having a larger ceremony later, but they are officially hitched!! Congratulations to Lone Pony and Abfreedom!!!

Law & Order is Out of Control!

This week's episode of "Law & Order: SVU" featured a character played by John Larroquette talking to a detective and saying, "Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, all of 'em, they are like a cancer spreading ignorance and hate...They've convinced folks that immigrants are the problem, not corporations that fail to pay a living wage or a broken health care system..."
This is EXACTLY why I stopped watching Law & Order years ago. When the show first started it was awesome, and usually pro-justice, but several years ago it radically departed from that, often taking pot shots at good people.

Bill O'Reilly didn't hesitate in going after the show and its creator, Dick Wolf. I'm proud of him, because I'm sick of people like him and Rush being attacked in Hollywood and by the Drive By Media and there being no response.

44% Want Bush Back Over Obama!

Ya gotta love it!!! Even I couldn't have predicted this:
Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited.

The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

Liberalism Created this Monster!

A college kid alerted me to the above video clip at Big Hollywood! They have some great stuff at that site, Rivka told me about them when they first started.

I couldn't agree more with Alfonzo Rachel. He starts off a little slow, but once he starts talking about Dennis Kucinich, he takes off.

The Week in Review!

1) Obama's Afghanistan Speech--I don't even know where to start on this debacle. Obama was trying to appease both sides by cutting the baby in half and ended up pleasing no one. Its an illogical strategy, which even CBS's Bob Schieffer admitted:
"How do you on the one hand say: ‘We need to send these troops over there; it’s critical; this is in our national-security interest to do this.’ But then say: ‘But we’re only going to keep them there for 18 months; we’re going to start to withdraw them after 18 months’? I just don’t understand the logic of how that works. It seems to me that what the president did tonight was try to make a speech that had a little something for everybody … I don’t understand, Katie, how you can set a deadline on what you’re going to do. This is not a football game, where the time runs out. To win this war, you have to defeat the enemy."

Also, Obama continues to show himself as a man of absolutely no class, by taking every opportunity to bash Bush and his administration. Bush never did the same to Clinton, who gave him more than enough material to work with. Politics aside, one would have to say that Bush has always had class, and Obama has had none.

Rumsfeld didn't take this latest false charge lying down, he came out swinging:
"The president's assertion does a disservice to the truth and, in particular, to the thousands of men and women in uniform who have fought, served and sacrificed in Afghanistan."

Dick Cheney weighed in also, yeah, this is why I love these men!!

I also must mention that when I heard Obama declare that we were no longer an "innocent" country, my blood pressure shot up. Not only does he take every opportunity to bash Bush but he takes every opportunity to bash his own country as well. Its beyond despicable!!

2) I love Dennis Miller!

3) Liberals are in denial about Climate Gate!

4) Obama promised 3.7 million jobs with his stimulus plan, instead we've lost 3.6 million jobs!

5) Chris Matthews keeps defining the New Low--Lets call the finest of our very own, the men and women at West Point, the enemy camp. Matthews must be competing with Keith Olbermann for biggest jerk of the year.

6) The Supreme Court Gets one Right!

7) How many violent criminals did Mike Huckabee set loose on society to kill again? We know he pardoned a rapist who immediately went on to rape and kill again. Now, a man he gave clemency to has gunned down 4 police officers. This is all part of a pattern of Huckabee being a conservative on a few social issues, but being a liberal on many others. He obviously wasn't tough on crime while Governor of Arkansas.

He also refuses to accept responsibility, saying it was a failure of the Arkansas judicial system. You've got to be kidding me. This is just another reminder of why Huckabee is a disaster for the GOP!
