I'm a fan of Congressman Paul Ryan!!

Color me impressed!! I saw Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Hannity's show Monday night and I really liked him and what he had to say. I've never heard or seen much about him, although, I think my parents still lived in Wisconsin when he was first elected.

It seems that we've got A LOT of excellent Representatives in the House. When you have people like Ryan, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) and my own stellar Representative Sam Graves (R-MO), it makes for a great team. Its no wonder that they all stood strong against the Socialism Bill aka Stimulus Bill, that Obama signed into law yesterday.

TV Smorgasbord!!

Its been a long time since I've talked about tv or movies so I'm past due.

1) The Office--This show is hilarious!! You can't help but love all the different characters on the show. You love Pam and Jim, you enjoy Jim's pranks on Dwight and most of the time you want to strangle Michael for being socially challenged.

2) Lost--I'm getting a little frustrated. Just when they give you answers, they bring up other issues that you don't have answers for. Also, Kate and Sawyer are still separated. Sawyer hasn’t given anyone a new nickname in awhile, and most importantly, he’s been wearing a shirt too much lately ;-)).

3) 24--After the last season being a little disappointing, this year's is back on track. I love the fact that there is a woman president. At first I wasn't that thrilled with her, but when she stood strong against appeasing terrorists, I was impressed.

4) Grey's Anatomy--Once again, like any good show, you love all the characters on it. Its amazing how well Patrick Dempsey carries himself as McDreamy. Who would've thought that the nerd from "Cant Buy Me Love" would end up being attractive enough to have the nickname McDreamy. I'm also really starting to like McSteamy, especially with how he connects with Lexi.

5) Private Practice--This show is a spin-off from Grey's Anatomy. Usually, spin-offs are a kiss of death, but this one has been great.

6) American Idol--The judges made their final decisions last week on who they had picked to actually make it on the show. I haven't picked any favorites yet, but I do have several that I can already tell will be extremely annoying.

7) Amazing Race--This is one reality show that I'd actually like to do. A friend and I have considered trying to enter. This season there is a deaf person on a team. Their team came in first for this leg of the race.

8) Survivor--I don't think I could make it on this show. I wouldn't be able to handle many of the things that they put people through.

Friday Smorgasbord!!

1) Rush, Krauthammer and O'Reilly on PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome)!--It is the height of hypocrisy how the Women's Media Center criticized O'Reilly for joking about Helen Thomas. This, after they did NOTHING to ever defend Sarah Palin after the deplorable way she was mocked 24/7 during the 2008 election.

Women's groups such as theirs and others need to be honest that they DO NOT CARE about the rights of women in general. They only care about the rights of liberal women. They didn't care about any of the women who had been abused by Bill Clinton, they didn't care about Sarah Palin and they certainly wouldn't care about the rights of any other conservative woman, including myself. They need to be honest, they are liberal groups who promote a liberal agenda, not the rights of women. And as a woman, it infuriates me that they are still being dishonest about their agenda.

It also infuriates me that they used Anita Hill to attempt to destroy Clarence Thomas. Civil rights took a back seat to trumped up sexual harassment charges, all for the cause of trying to stack the deck on the Supreme Court.

2) Republicans Trail Obama Dems By One Point in Poll--Anti-Stimulus Push Is Working--It is inspirational to see Republicans finally stand strong and have a back bone for conservative principles. It also appears that the public is paying attention.

3) As for the 3 Traitors in the Republican Party, they may get kicked to the Curb as I mentioned in my last post!

4) 50 De-Stimulating Facts!

5) Bill Clinton Wants More "Balance" on the Airwaves--This from the man with whom the media was in love with prior to the messiah Barack Obama. Me thinketh he is still a little bitter about the fact that Rush exposed him for the liar and the narcissist that he is.

The Tortured and Pathetic Logic of U.S. Senator Arlen Specter!

U.S. Senator Arlen Specter turns 79 tomorrow and one would be hard pressed to come up with a set of core principles that he believes in. He is a liberal Republican, better known as a RINO who can never be relied on to support anything that the Republican party stands for. He is one of 3 Republicans that ensured that the monstrosity aka stimulus bill passed the Senate yesterday.

He was interviewed on Hannity's radio show on Monday, and it was one of the most pathetic displays I've ever heard, thus my title. He was attempting to defend his reason for supporting the stimulus package. He said he didn't really like a lot of what was in it but said that "something" had to be done. When Hannity brought up how what Reagan had done in the past was successful Specter agreed that was good, but thought this might work too, even though it was the exact opposite.

His logic was tortured and made no sense. He has no guiding principles and just seems to go with the wind. I would've had more respect for him if he would've just admitted that his philosophy is more in line with Democrats and he thinks that government has the answers, not tax cuts or private sector jobs.

I will confess that I have never been a fan of Specter's. One must also not forget that before he was one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate, he was Ira Einhorn's lawyer, who was also known as the Unicorn Killer. I will never understand why Bush and Santorum didn't support his primary opponent in 2004. Although, there is already a Republican group threatening Specter, Snowe and Collins with primary challenges if they sign off on the final stimulus bill. There might finally be some consequences for the choices they make. To make matters worse, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint says that their betrayal actually cost $18.7 Billion more than the House version.

The bottom line is that Specter and one of the other RINOs could've stopped this monstrosity from passing. They had the power to protect this country from being fleeced. They chose not to, and as a result, this will not only not stimulate the economy, it will make it worse and our children and our grandchildren will still be paying for this years down the road.

Meanwhile, the public displays their disapproval and so does the Dow, as it responds by plummeting.

Obama is helping us take our first step towards socialism with this bill, as is even Newsweek is admitting. Obama is also being dishonest when he says there is no pork in this bill. There is tons of pork in it. I guess it depends on your definition of pork!! Where have we heard this before??

Is it a Stimulus Bill or a Mugging?

Is it a Stimulus Bill or a Mugging? That question was posed by U.S. Senator Jim DeMint and I couldn't think of a better one myself. He posed this question while giving his alternative to the Democrats' bill, which he entitled, "The American Option".

While the so-called stimulus bill is big on government spending and small on actually stimulating the economy, it also has religious discrimination thrown into the mix. U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) tried to strike the religious discrimination from the bill with his amendment, but Democrats voted 54-43 against it.

Meanwhile, Obama and Pelosi are threatening dire consequences if their monstrosity of a bill isn't passed.

U.S. Representative Lynn Jenkins (R-Kansas) nails it in her column in my local paper, the KC Star. Her column was entitled, "Billions For Stimulus Bill That Does Not Stimulate". She did such a good job that I talked about it at great length on the radio show this past Monday. Take the time to read it all, but here is an excerpt:
Americans are struggling right now and need financial assistance.

Unfortunately, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives have taken this as an invitation to fund their long wish list for new government spending.

This comes in the form of an $819 billion bill that they contend will stimulate the economy.

Each day headlines report that more Americans are losing their jobs. The bill that passed this week promised to create or save 3 million jobs. If correct, that means this bill would cost the U.S. taxpayer $275,000 per job.

This proposal has been touted as an investment in transportation and infrastructure, but only 3 percent of the bill will invest in highway construction.

While highway investment is minimal, Pelosi found $400 million for “national treasures,” $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, $335 million for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, and $650 million for digital TV coupons.

These programs do not stimulate the economy, and they do not provide relief and assistance to you.

Americans need relief immediately, but only 7 percent of the funding in Pelosi’s plan will actually be used this year. The bulk of the funding won’t be spent for years to come.

The question is simple: Do we listen to what economists say will stimulate the economy immediately and cut payroll taxes, giving American workers more money in their pockets, or do we take $819 billion from workers and let politicians and federal bureaucrats decide how best to spend it?

Working Americans should be able to keep their hard-earned money to use how they see fit.

Hillary Disses Bill!

During the swearing in ceremony for Hillary yesterday, she made a joke about Bill's philandering. One can only imagine the resentment that she has for Bill after all that he has put her and Chelsea through. Although, she has no one to blame but herself. She knew before they were even married that he was a cheater and yet she married him anyway and chose to have a child with him.

Yet, apparently this isn't the first time that Hillary has gotten a dig in at Bill in a very public way. I guess some public humiliation is a small price to pay.
