My Life Now...

The above picture was sent to me by my emailing, texting and work-out friend ;-). The reason I thought the picture was perfect for this post, is because I'm stealing an idea from her that she used on her blog.

She listed different things that she had going on in her life at the time. I thought that was a good and fun idea.

The American's Creed--An excerpt-
I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

I just finished, "He Sets the Captives Free" by Corrie Ten Boom
I'm still in the middle of, The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes
I'm starting, Women of the Suffrage Movement by Janice E. Ruth & Evelyn Sinclair

Working Out:

Just finished, the Wii Active Trainer. I won't waste time reviewing it, because my LDWB (Long Distance Workout Buddy) already did. Her review is similar to mine, except that I wouldn't have been as nice. Unless, you currently don't do any weights at all, its not worth your money.

Getting ready to start, Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.

In addition to my normal stuff at the gym and my karate.

Bible Studying:

The Power of Praying Through the Bible by Stormie Omartian
The Patriarchs by Beth Moore

Listening to:

Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre Dramas on Cd--
So far I've listened to:
Amazing Grace
Anne of Green Gables
Les Miserables
Amazing Grace was my favorite.

The new 90210 series on DVD
History Movies
Old episodes of Grey's Anatomy on Lifetime

School Studying with the kids:

Ancient Egypt--There are so many fun aspects to studying Ancient Egypt.

Mourning the Loss of Patrick Swayze!!

When Patrick Swayze was originally diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2008, I offered up prayers for him and did a post asking others to pray and sign a public get well card for him. Swayze fought the deadly cancer and continued acting and living life, but unfortunately, lost his battle with cancer yesterday at the age of 57.

Dr. Jeffrey Hardacre told Fox News that Swayze defied the odds because most people that are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer only live 3-6 months, and Swayze lived for over a year and a half.

I think many viewed Swayze as one of the "good guys" in Hollywood. I know I did. Any woman that was a teen in the 80's fell in love with him in the movie Dirty Dancing. My other favorites were:
--The Outsiders
--Point Break

Also, no one will ever forget his hilarious SNL skit with Chris Farley. Its hard to believe that they are both gone now.

May God comfort his family and friends during this difficult time. My prayers and thoughts are with them. He will be greatly missed!

Remembering 9/11!!

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.

America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.

Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, and we responded with the best of America, with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.--President George W. Bush on September 11, 2001

I will forever be grateful that President George W. Bush was at the helm on that fateful day and not someone else. God Bless him, he is greatly missed!!
