The Lack of Compassion is Incomprehensible

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"--Edmund Burke

I'm still in disbelief over this story, Shoppers ignored woman dying of stab wound:
"Stabbing victim LaShanda Calloway lay dying on the floor of a Wichita convenience store.

Instead of dialing 911, five shoppers stepped over Calloway to carry out purchases — and at least one used a cell phone to take pictures of the stabbing victim."
I have heard of people knowing that someone was being raped or assaulted and not doing anything to aid them and I have never been able to comprehend it.

Where is the compassion? Where is the concern for a fellow human being in need? How could you be more concerned about making purchases at a convenience store than the fact that someone is dying right in front of you?

I will never be able to fathom how this is possible. Life is precious, and the devaluing of it in our society leads to horrific examples such as this one. May God help us!!
