Free Roxana Saberi

This is a Human Rights issue that Republicans and Democrats should be able to join together on. Roxana Saberi is an American Journalist that is imprisoned in Iran. She was sentenced to 8 years in prison on bogus charges in a trial that took place behind closed doors. She turned 32 yesterday while sitting in the Iranian prison.

The KC Star had an article about her on page 21 of yesterday's paper. She has gone on a hunger strike to protest her imprisonment. Saberi's case has caused even more tension between Obama and Ahmadinejad. He and Obama could get along if it just weren't for the racism, denial of the holocaust and the imprisoning of American journalists.

Saberi's parents are concerned about how weak she is getting from the hunger strike.

What You Can Do:

1) Join the Blog Rally--
A group of bloggers is holding a blog rally in support of Roxana Saberi (who is spending her birthday on a hunger strike in Tehran's Evin Prison) and of others who have dared to express their thoughts freely only to be imprisoned, abused, or killed.

Please consider placing a blue ribbon this week on your blog, website, and facebook / myspace / twitter page, and invite others to do the same, in honor of the journalists, bloggers, students, and writers who are imprisoned in Evin Prison (nicknamed "Evin University") and other prisons around the world for speaking and writing down their thoughts.

2) Officials in Iran need to know your concern for Roxana Saberi and your desire to return her home, and while she is in Iran to have a fair appeals process.

Write to:
His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee,
Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran
622 Third Ave.
New York, NY 1007
e-mail: iran@un.int

Tori Spelling on Hannity!

I have to confess that I used to watch Beverly Hills 90210. I also happened to read Tori Spelling's book, Stori Telling last year and really enjoyed it. It gave me a lot of respect for her as a person.

I really enjoyed this interview and was impressed with Sean for having her on and with Tori for being willing to be on.

The rules are simple:

Using the Entertainment Weekly list of the top 100 movies from the last 25 years:
