"Godless" Review--Part 1

Amazingly I carved some time out to read tonight and was reminded of:

Why I love Ann Coulter!!

--She totally does her homework with mounds of research.

--I learn tons of things that the MSM has ignored. I am always shocked and say to myself, "How did I not know this info before now?"

--I laugh at every other paragraph I read. She speaks the truth and entertains at the same time. It amazes me how much she makes me laugh and I find myself saying, "Isn't that the truth?"

Chp. 1--On the Seventh Day, God rested and liberals schemed

The basic premise of this chapter is that Democrats and liberals' religion is liberalism.

"If a Martian landed in America and set out to determine the nation's official state religion, he would have to conclude it is liberalism, while Christianity and Judaism are prohibited by law."

"Democrats cannot conceive of “hate speech” toward Christians because, in their eyes, Christians always deserve it.

After lashing out at Christians for no reason, Dean went on to say the Democrats are “more welcoming to different folks, because that’s the kind of people we are.” In addition to Christians, whom liberals hate, the Democrats are not particularly welcoming of “folks” who do not believe it is a Constitutional right to stick a fork in a baby’s head. They are not welcoming to people who think a human life is more important than a bird’s life. They don’t welcome judges who display the Ten Commandments in their courtrooms. They are not welcoming to people who believe marriage really is a sacred institution and not just an opportunity to sneak a right to contraception into the Constitution. They are not welcoming to people who think a multiple murderer gang leader like Tookie Williams should be given the death penalty. They are extremely unwelcoming to blacks who stray from the liberal orthodoxy and become Republicans. And David Geffen is distinctly unwelcoming to people who try to walk on the public beach that abuts his house in Malibu.

Democrats revile religion but insist on faking a belief in God in front of the voters claiming to be “spiritual.” They can’t forthrightly admit they are Druids, so they “reframe” their constant, relentless opposition to every Biblical precept as respect for “science” or the “Constitution”—both of which they hate. Their rage against us is their rage against the Judeo-Christian tradition. I don’t particularly care if liberals believe in God. In fact, I would be crestfallen to discover any liberals in heaven. So fine, rage against God, but how about being honest about it? Liberals can believe what they want to believe, but let us not flinch from identifying liberalism as the opposition party to God."

Chp. 2--The Passion of the Liberal: Thou Shalt Not Punish the Perp

I felt myself saying Amen throughout this whole chapter. I will never understand the liberals desire to defend the criminal and spit on the victim. Hollywood liberals make movies like, "Dead Man Walking" where the sympathy is all for the murderers/rapists and we forget about the horrific things they did to their victims. I had a liberal on another blog ask me this question, "Maybe someone can come up with an example of liberal Democrats defending murderers and rapists." Ha!! I literally laughed and thought where do I start? The examples are legion and Ann does an awesome job of listing them in this chapter.

"Liberals say we're the only modern democracy with the death penalty. I think this should be treated as a selling point: 'Come to the United States for the economic opportunity, stay because we fry our Ted Bundys!'"

Ann points out that the liberals' misplaced sympathy for murderers and rapists actually does them harm. Instead of encouraging them to confess their sins and find forgiveness from God they want them to lie and say it never happened thus sealing their eternal fate. In the following quote she contrasts Christian Ashley Smith's response to murderer Brian Nichols by witnessing to him insted of trying to deny what he'd done:

"Most people have trouble seeing the divine spark in people who take our parking spots. Smith could see God's hand in a multiple murderer holding her hostage. By showing Nichols genuine Christian love, Smith turned him from a beast to a fellow sinner, still deserving of punishment, but also of forgiveness. This phenomenon, utterly unknown to liberals, is what's known as a 'miracle'. That's how a real religion responds to rapists and murderers. In the liberal relgion, ther is no grace, only lies and death, some of it everlasting."

Chp. 3--The Martyr: Willie Horton

This chapter literally shocked me. I will admit I knew nothing about the Willie Horton controversy during the Bush 41 vs. Dukakis election. I was flabbergasted at Dukakis' view on how to treat criminals and on how the MSM was able to spin it since this was before the alternative media.

Massachusetts' Governor Dukakis firmly believed in furloughs for criminals who had been convicted of 1st degree murder. These murderers were in prison with life sentences without the possibility of parole. And yet because of his psycho philosophy they would be allowed to go free on weekend furloughs. This is unfathomable to me!! Horton had viciously stabbed a 17 yr. old boy and had been given life in prison. He was allowed on weekend furloughs and on one of them he beat and tortured a man named Cliff Barnes and then raped and tortured his girlfriend Angela Miller. Miraculously Barnes escaped and got help and so Horton was caught. But why on earth would a vicious criminal be allowed to go free to commit more crimes like this? Unbelievable!!

Then when the Massachusetts' Legislature tried to repeal this furlough program for first-degree murderers Dukakis vetoed it. Unfathomable!! Finally the citizens of Massachusetts outcry was so loud that he was forced to sign the bill but he still said he opposed it. Yikes!! And this was the Democrats' man for president in 1988.

Ann then lists all the rationalizations the liberals gave for this and how they tried to turn this into a race issue. Despicable!!

"Dukakis was almost a parody of the Democrats on crime. He had been given repeated opportunities to change course on furloughs--even on the precise issue of Willie Horton's furlough. He could have apologized, met with Cliff Barnes and Angela Miller, signed a bill to deny furloughs to first-degree murderers, or simply refrained from criticizing the bill he finally did sign doing just that. But he wouldn't do it. Dukakis didn't even have someone on his staff to warn him, Just in case you ever think about running for president, sir, you might want to tone down your gushing about furloughs for first-degree murderers. Horton was the essence, the heart, the alpha and omega of liberal ideas about crime and punishment, to wit: Release the guilty. Willie Horton showed the American people exactly what was wrong with liberal theories about crime."

Chp.4--The Holiest Sacrament: Abortion

I wanted to post a picture of an aborted baby but I can't bring myself to do it. It is just too horrifying for me. After looking at about 3 pictures I thought I was going to be ill and I'm not sure that I won't have nightmares tonight as a result. But for any liberals/moderates reading this who think abortion is okay I want you to look at these pictures and tell me its okay to kill babies in or outside of the womb. It is unconscionable!!

"There's a stirring principle! Leave aside the part of this precious constitutional right that involves (1) not allowing Americans to vote on the matter and (2) suctioning brains out of half-born babies. The right to have sex with men you don't want to have children with is not exactly 'Give me liberty, or give me death'. In the history of the nation, there has never been a political party so ridiculous as today's Democrats. It's as if all the brain-damaged people in America got together and formed a voting bloc."

"Republicans have won the battle of ideas on abortion, and now it's just a matter of time before the Supreme Court overturns Roe and allows Americans to vote. The death of Roe is going to be like the death of the Soviet Union, and not only because both events make liberals sad. Roe is already dead, we're just waiting for the official proclamation. Liberals think they can demand a ruling from the Supreme Court that will take all risk out of trysting sex. But the High Court can't do that any more than penicillin can. Liberals seem not to realize their real complaint is with a Lawmaker whose judgment cannot be appealed.

And to that last line I say "Amen!"
