So, why is Obama not fulfilling his promise to air the Healthcare negotiations on C-span? He knows that once the American people can see what is going on, they will put even more pressure on their representatives to vote against it, and he can't afford to lose one vote.
Brian Lamb, CEO of C-Span sent this letter to leaders of both houses of Congress asking that they live up to Obama's pledge:
"President Obama, Senate and House leaders, many of your rank-and-file members, and the nation's editorial pages have all talked about the value of transparent discussions on reforming the nation's health care system. Now that the process moves to the critical stage of reconciliation between the chambers, we respectfully request that you allow the public full access, through television, to legislation that will affect the lives of every single American."Hat tip: Mike's America
Gateway Pundit had this to say:
But in the end, the democrats will line up and ram this unpopular bill down America’s throat despite the naive concerns of the state-run media.
Founding Bloggers makes the exact same point I did earlier today, this is Obama's "Read My Lips" moment.
