Time To Drill!

I dedicated my entire radio show this past Monday to the how to ease our pain at the pump. I did a ton of research on drilling, refineries and other methods of energy. If the enviro-nazis would let us drill in the U.S. we wouldn't need to be dependent on the Middle East for any of our oil. In the Rocky Mountains alone we have 3 times the amount of oil that Saudia Arabia has but we aren't going after it.

We have the technology now to drill without hurting the environment or the wildlife. It is absurd that we aren't drilling in places like the Gulf of Mexico but China, Venezuela and Cuba are.

In addition to drilling we should be building more refineries but we aren't because of ridiculous environmental restrictions. Then we have a refinery that wanted to increase its capacity from 60,000 barrels of oil a day to 500,000 barrels a day but the Federal EPA said no!! Unbelievable!! Meanwhile, you have Barack Obama telling you to get used to high gas prices because this is the way it needs to be.

Meanwhile, Newt Gingrich has started this awesome campaign called, Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less! It is one of the best things Newt has ever done and the campaign is spreading like wildfire. The petition is close to gathering a million signatures. If you haven't signed it yet make sure you do and spread the word. Also, I joined their Facebook group, sent it to my Facebook friends, put a link in my sidebar and I'm going to give a donation and get a bumper sticker.

The greatest thing about this campaign is that it is already making a difference. Guess what Bush proposed yesterday? He called on Congress to lift offshore drilling ban. I was beyond ecstatic when I heard him announce that. Now, if we could only get the Democrats to cooperate. The greatest thing is if we keep putting on the pressure they might not have a choice.

I have taken some heat for being critical of McCain and I said I would be both critical of him but would also praise him when he did something good. Well, he took Newt's advice and did something good, so kudos to McCain. He reversed his stance and urged the ban to be lifted on offshore drilling. Newt had urged him to do this and he did. To be honest, if McCain gets aggressive with this stance and really ran on this and promoted and marketed it, he could win in a landslide with gas prices being so high.
