LMC's Smorgasbord

My awesome friend (who is also the one who originally set up this blog for me)is good at photoshopping pictures. She put my oldest son's face on this pic so we could use it for an edible image on a cake for his birthday. I waited till the last minute so there was some stress involved in us being able to get it done. But finally I had the pic printed out at Wal-mart and it was ready to be put on a cake. That's when the real trouble started.

I took it to the bakery department at Wal-mart. My friend had already used a similar photoshopped pic of her daughter with Care Bears at another store so I wasn't expecting any problems. Well- they freak out because of copyright laws. I try to explain that this is a free downloadable picture off the internet but to no avail. Now for the funny part. I have a manager come over acting very confident. He says that as soon as he saw the picture he knew it wasn't going to work because he recognized Kiefer Sutherland. I looked incredulously at him and didn't even hesitate. (For a moment I forgot about being ticked off that they weren't going to use the picture on the cake.) "That is not Kiefer Sutherland," I said emphatically.

Hello?? My friend and I were joking later that this guy made this mistake with the wrong family. First of all I'm a Kiefer Sutherland expert :-) and my husband is a Star Wars expert so this would've never flown with either of us :-). By the way for those of you who don't know the other guy in the pic is Ewan McGregor not Kiefer.

After some other complications we did finally get the pic on the cake. But it turned out to be a much bigger deal than I expected :-).

HAPPY DAY for me!!! :
McCain bombs in a Republican Straw poll for president. I especially loved this line:
One activist said, "McCain voted against all the Bush tax cuts... maybe he should have voted for the president then, instead of waiting for a political stunt to try and distract."

I found another one of these quizzes and I loved my result so I thought I'd post it. Let me know your results :-).

My friends and I went and saw "Failure to Launch" last night. The film critics (again the artsy fartsy elites) were giving it terrible ratings. But talk to any woman who won't go to a Matthew McConaughey movie and she probably needs her head examined. It was awesome!!! We laughed out loud throughout the whole movie, it had a great ending and I loved the other actors in the movie also. For those of you Alias fans "Will" (Bradley Cooper) was in it and was endearing as always. Also, the last time I did a conservative hunks post Mark led me to this great site that had a list of conservative celebrities. I almost died when I saw McConaughey on there. So right then and there I knew I'd have to do a conservative hunks #3 sometime in the future.
